Reset Microsoft Store

Probably the first thing that you should do when the Install button is not working on the Store, is to reset it back to its original state.

  • Open Start Menu»Settings.
  • Click on Apps»Microsoft Store»Advanced Options.
  • Then click on Reset.
  • A confirmation box will appear on which you again need to press the Reset button.
  • Once the reset is done, close the Settings menu.
  • Open the Microsoft Store and attempt to install an app and see if it has solved the issue or not.

Clear Store Cache

  • Open the Start menu and search for wsreset.exe.
  • Wait for a few seconds and let the command prompt clear the cache of the Microsoft Store.
  • Once the cache is cleared, the store will open automatically.
  • Check if this fixes the issue or not.

Re-login to Microsoft Store

  • Open the Microsoft Store.
  • Tap on the profile picture and click on the account.
  • Click on Sign out.
  • Relaunch the Microsoft Store app.
  • Click on the add profile button and sign in with your account.

Run Microsoft Troubleshooter

  • Open the Settings menu from Start.
  • Tap on Update & Security.

Re-register Microsoft Store

  • Open Windows PowerShell from the Start menu.
  • Copy and paste the below command:
  • Get-AppXPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
  • Press the Enter button to execute the command.
  • Launch the Microsoft Store and see if this has resolved the issue or not.
