Google Pixel 6 Pro is currently one of the popular and flagship Android smartphones in the market that offers stunning specifications & an overall revamped design. It runs on Android 12 out of the box that includes Nano-SIM and eSIM support. Apart from several other bugs or issues, it seems that plenty of Google Pixel 6 Pro users are reporting that their device won’t recognize the SIM card consistently or quite often which is a major issue for sure.

According to several reports on the Pixel Phone Help forum, multiple users are complaining about the intermittent connectivity issues on their Pixel 6 Pro devices even though the SIM card is inserted. Sometimes a system reboot may fix the issue for a couple of hours but the SIM not recognizing problem comes back again. Whereas the same SIM card and the cellular connectivity works fine with the older generation of Pixel models whatsoever.

Whereas some affected Pixel 6 Pro users are also reporting that even after performing the factory reset, the device won’t read the SIM card at all which is frustrating. It seems that though the users tried turning off the adaptive battery feature and adaptive connectivity, the problem continues. Due to such an issue, Pixel 6 Pro users are unable to place or receive calls apart from using mobile data. Without the cellular service, the device feels useless.

Luckily, there are a couple of possible workarounds available that should gonna help you out.

1. Insert Another SIM Card

It seems that AT&T and Verizon cellular service users are mostly receiving this particular issue on the Google Pixel 6 Pro models. We’re recommending our readers try inserting another SIM card on the Pixel 6 Pro and then check for the issue. If the issue persists that means there is a problem with the device itself or the SIM tray. If a different network SIM works fine then the chances are high that your SIM card has an issue. If so, try replacing the SIM card.

  • Go to System > Tap on Reset options.
  • Now, tap on Reset Wi-Fi, mobile, & Bluetooth.
  • Tap on Reset settings > If prompted, enter the PIN, password, or pattern whatever you use.
  • Tap on Reset settings to confirm the process (if prompted).
  • Wait for it to complete > Reboot the device to apply changes.
  • Finally, try inserting the SIM card again, and check for the issue.

You should try finding out the device’s EID whether it’s showing properly or not. To do that:

You can use the following steps to find your device’s EID QR code:

  • Tap on the + (plus) icon next to SIMs.
  • Now, tap on Download a SIM instead? or Don’t have a SIM card?.
  • Tap on Next > Tap on find it here if it asks Activating in a store?

4. Re-insert SIM

Don’t try inserting or removing the SIM card when your Google Pixel 6 Pro is powered on. Doing so, might gonna affect the SIM card or your device itself. Always switch off your handset and then remove & re-insert the SIM card then switch on the device to check for the issue.
